Jake is among 15 college quarterbacks being considered for the Davey O’Brien Award, given out to the nation’s top signal caller. Finalists will be announcedlocker-usc4 November 23rd, with the winner revealed on ESPNU’s College Football Awards Show on December 10th

After a disappointing ending to a great game in the desert, today the Huskies welcome the Oregon Ducks to Husky Stadium. The game starts at 12:30 and is televised on ABC.

The week’s buzz on Jake:

Monday

A huge thank you to everyone that donated towards the Run of Hope and Team Ooo-Um-Gow-Ah, a run to benefit pediatric brain tumor research. The team, in honor of Jake’s friend Kyle Roger, surpassed their original goal and raised $23,850, helped in large part by Husky nation!

Wednesday

The heraldnet.com provides a different argument for the future decision awaiting the Husky quarterback.

Thursday

The Eugene Register Guard has a look at Jake’s dual threat capability.

Season Stats Through 6 Games

Passing: 113-198, 1423 Yards, 57.1% Completion, 10 TD, 4 Int, 130.07 Rating
Rushing: 60 Carries, 199 Yards, 3.3 Per Carry, 4 TD, 56 Lng

It’s the midway point for the season and a big game against Arizona State. The Huskies are 2-1 in the Pac 10 and 3-3 overall. The game is televised live from Tempe, Arizona at 7 p.m. on FSN tonight!

Wednesday

Tim Booth of the Seattle Times writes about the 56 yard touchdown run against Arizona, and talks about how the new offense has evolved Jake’s decision making process on the field.

Hope to see everyone at Husky Stadium for tonight’s 7:00 game against Arizona!

First off, a little bit about the end of the Notre Dame game and Jake needing to take a breather after the game.

Arizona sources talk about Locker, including a flattering quote on Jake from Arizona Coach Mike Stoops:

“I don’t want to get crazy, but the guy has got an Elway-type of release and arm strength that not many people have,” Stoops said. “His mobility….John was a lot like that when he was younger.”

A lot of coverage from around the nation regarding the matchup of the Huskies and Irish, a game that will be on NBC today at 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday:

Uhnd.com says that Jake is the most dangerous quarterback the Irish will play all season.

The Seattlepi.com sports blog talks about the similar paths taken by Jake and his friend and Notre Dame quarterback, Jimmy Clausen.

Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times compares Jake’s goals to that of Seahawks coach Jim Mora.
