Washington Coach Steve Sarkisian announced on his Twitter feed last night that Jake has been cleared by the team doctors to play in Thursday night’s nationally televised game vs. UCLA.
There had been some uncertainty regarding Jake’s availability as he attempts to heal from a broken rib, an injury suffered during the Oregon State game that worsened as he played vs. Arizona and Stanford. The team doctors did not clear him to play vs. Oregon, and because of the bye week it gave Jake a couple of weeks to rest.
He has practiced as the #1 quarterback this week, although back up Keith Price got more snaps than usual in case Jake wasn’t cleared to play. Now that he is–although he won’t be 100% healthy– he will get the opportunity to lead the team in his last home game as a Washington Husky.
