Jake was honored with the Male Sports Star of the Year award at the 75th annual Sports Star Award Tuesday Night, held at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
The event, formerly hosted by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper until last year, was put on by the Seattle Sports Commission. Steve Largent, Edgar Martinez and Lenny Wilkens–among many other local sports celebrities and executives–were on hand for the event. The Washington Huskies women’s softball team also took home honors, including a shared award for female sports star of the year and play of the year.
