Jake and the Husky offense was clicking on all cylinders Saturday, as they scored touchdowns on their first 5 possessions en route to a 42-23 victory over the visiting Idaho Vandals.
Jake continued to look comfortable in the pro-style offense as he improved his season percentage to 60%, hitting 17 of 25 passes for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns, in addition to 18 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground.
The junior quarterback made some highlight worthy plays throughout the afternoon, including a signature scramble and pinpoint 35-yard strike to D’Andre Goodwin on 3rd and 14 from the Vandal 41, which led to his own 3 yard touchdown run on the next play.
In describing the dynamic play, Locker said that ” a (defensive) guy kind of got free on the right side there and I tried to get out and I saw another guy so I was just turning to figure out a way to get out of there and not take a sack. Then once I did had a lot of room to work with from the hash to the sidelines, so I just got my eyes downfield to see if a guy could get open and he was running across the field wide open so I just threw it down to him and we were able to convert on a big third down.”
