As there are a lot of pro teams that will be looking to draft a quarterback in the upcoming 2011 NFL Draft, Jake had a lot of eyes on him during his 4 day stretch of the NFL Combine. Fortunately, by many accounts he improved his draft stock after a successful showing in the speed and agility drills, throwing excercises and the personal interview process.

Jake said that he talked to every NFL team in some capacity, and that the interview side was a lot of talk about football in general. He was also pleased at how the event went overall.

“I felt really good. It was a good week for me. I thought the interview process went well, the medical stuff went well and when I was able to get on the field I felt comfortable and confident.”

Jake placed in the top half of every measured athletic drill, including 3rd in his ‘official’ 40-yard time (4.59 official after two 4.52 unofficial readings), 1st in the 3-cone drill (6.77), 3rd in the vertical leap (35″), and 4th in the broad jump (10′).

Jake will have one final audition for NFL personnel before April’s draft, and this one will come with a home field advantage as it will be held on U of W’s campus on March 30th.
