Jake Wins Guy Flaherty Award

For the second year in a row Jake won the Washington Football Team “Guy Flaherty Award”, given to the most inpirational player on the team. The award, handed out every year at the team’s postseason banquet, is the program’s oldest and most prestigious award. Jake is only the 4th player in Husky history to receive the award twice, with the most recent being Jordan Reffett.

Locker Named Pac 10 Player of the Week

Jake was named Pac 10 offensive player of the week after his dominant performance against  Cal last Saturday. Jake was 19-23 passing for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns, and also added 77 yards rushing with 2 more touchdowns in the 42-10 victory to cap Washington’s season.

While Locker was the choice for the offensive player of the week, Arizona defensive tackle Earl Mitchell and Oregon State kicker Justin Kahut were chosen for defensive and special teams players of the week honors.

Jake also earned the Guy Flaherty Most Inspirational Award during Wednesday night’s team banquet. The Flaherty Award, named after its first winner in 1908, is Washington’s oldest and most prestigious individual award.
