The Huskies welcome the Beavers of Oregon State to Husky Stadium, with kick off tonight at 7:21 p.m.

The 24th ranked Beavers are coming off a big 29-27 win at #9 ranked Arizona, while Washington is coming off a disappointing 10 point loss to Arizona State at home. Oregon State’s win came with a big loss, however, as do-everything star player James Rodgers injured his knee and was lost for the year. The Huskies, meanwhile, are nursing some injuries of their own as both offensive lineman Erik Kohler (mono) and wide receiver Devin Aguilar (hip) will miss their second straight game, and running back Johri Fogerson will miss another game with a hip injury.

And, as noted after the Arizona State game, Jake is getting through being sick and also trying to heal from a deep thigh contusion, two issues that are on the mend but not fully healed.

“He looks fine. I thought he would get back,” Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian said. “I don’t think he will be 100 percent; there is a pretty good-sized bruise. But it’s nice to have him and know that you’ve got him.”

Washington is hoping to end a 6 game losing streak versus the Beavers that dates back to 2004. And, following tonight’s game, the Huskies must endure 4 of the next six on the road, including 3 contests against ranked opponents:  at #2 Oregon, #17 Arizona, and at home vs. #14 Stanford.

The Beavers have bounced back this season to win the last 2 games–both conference games–to get to 3-2 (2-0 in conference) after a daunting non-conference schedule that included road losses at nationally ranked TCU and Boise State. The Beavers have followed a balanced offensive attack with all-conference player Jaquizz Rodgers leading the running game, while 1st year starter Ryan Katz has come to the forefront at quarterback, a solid sophomore showing to date highlighted by a 393 passing yards and 3 total touchdown performance in the victory last weekend.
